When selecting equipment when building a new sand and gravel production line, many users will have this question: What is the difference between impact crusher and cone crusher? They are both the second crushers on the production line? Moreover, in many cases, the discharge particle shape of an impact crusher is larger than that of a cone crusher. So, why is the cone crusher tens of thousands more expensive than the impact crusher? Both are mid-range, but the difference is tens of thousands. What is the difference between counterattack and cone breaking? How expensive is a cone crusher?

   The working principle is different:

   The impact crusher adopts the principle of impact crushing, and the materials are repeatedly impacted and broken between the plate hammer and the impact plate;

   The cone crusher uses a combination of extrusion, shearing and grinding for crushing. The frosted wall continuously moves toward the crushing wall, squeezing the materials between them for crushing.

   The crushing range is different:

   The cone crusher mainly crushes materials with higher hardness such as granite, basalt, tuff, river pebbles, etc.;

   Impact crusher is used to crush materials with low hardness such as limestone and limestone.

   Both impact crusher and cone crusher can be used as secondary crushing equipment, but the hardness of the crushed materials is different. In short, the impact crusher is suitable for crushing materials with hardness and lower toughness and less brittleness, and the cone crusher is suitable for crushing hard materials.

   Crusher discharge granularity is different

   The material of cone crusher is thinner than that of impact crusher. In the actual production process, there are many cone crushers in the mineral processing process, but there are many differences in building materials and construction projects. The finished particles of the crusher have better edges and corners, and the finished products have smaller edges and corners. Compared with impact crushers, cone crushers have the characteristics of low energy consumption, large output, and stable production.

   The scope of application is different:

   Cone crushers are often used in the operation of large-scale high-volume production lines. The investment cost of different cone crushers is more expensive than that of impact crushers, but the wearing parts have a long service life, which avoids the trouble of frequent replacement of parts. In the long run, cone crushers are more cost-effective than impact crushers. The early purchase cost of impact crusher is low, but the later maintenance cost is high; the early cost of cone crusher is high, but the later investment cost is low.

   In addition, the cone crushing performance is higher than that of impact crushing, the output is high, it is not difficult to crush hard materials, and the wearing parts have a long life. In the long run, cone crushers are more cost-effective than impact crushers. Understandable. To sum up, impact crusher and cone crusher each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Which equipment to choose in actual production also needs to be comprehensively considered based on different materials, incoming and outgoing material particle size and output.
