Regarding crushing and sand making equipment, many friends left messages asking which one is better. So which crusher is better to choose for sand and gravel aggregate production line? Ordinary hammer crushers are cheap and have simple processes. Can I use hammer crusher to make sand? Affected by process and cost, in the past, many small production lines would consider using hammer crusher machine-made sand when they did not have high requirements on the shape and quality of sand particles. However, the general sand making production line is used in conjunction with primary crusher, secondary crusher, fine crusher, sand making machine and other equipment to produce good particle size and good quality.

Simply put, hammer crushers are rarely used in sand and gravel aggregate lines. There are two main reasons:
1. The shape of the output particles is not good (1 or 2 pieces of gravel is enough)
Although the hammering sand making process is simple, the yield is low, it is easy to break, and there are many powdery materials. In addition, the finished aggregate will have micro-cracks and low compressive strength, which will affect the quality of the aggregate and also affect sales. Hammering is mainly used for crushing.
2. Serious losses
The hammer crusher is suitable for processing medium-soft ores, such as limestone, coal gangue, dolomite, shale, etc. It cannot handle materials with higher hardness. Otherwise, the hammer head will wear quickly and the replacement frequency will be high, the cost will increase, and production will be delayed.
Why do sand and gravel aggregate production lines mostly use impact crushers?
1. Processing materials
Due to different technical structures and working principles, impact crushers can process not only softer materials, but also materials with higher hardness, while hammer crushers can only process materials with lower hardness. Since there is no grille at the bottom of the impact crusher, the particle size of the product is determined by the gap between the impact plate and the hammer head. Therefore, when the moisture content of the materials being processed is too high, it can effectively avoid clogging the grille when crushing wet materials. Phenomenon. Due to the bottom grate, the hammer crusher increases the possibility of clogging and therefore cannot handle materials with higher humidity. Compared with impact crusher, the working range is wider.
2. Maintenance costs
When purchasing in the early stage, the price of impact crusher is generally higher than that of hammer crusher. However, due to the structural and working differences between impact crushers and hammer crushers, there will also be certain differences in later maintenance. The wear of the impact crusher's plate hammer only occurs on the side facing the material, and the impact crusher's plate hammer has a higher metal utilization rate. At the same time, the frame part of the impact crusher has a three-part structure. You only need to open the rear casing of the crusher to perform inspection and maintenance operations such as replacing the plate hammer, impact plate, and liner. It has strong interchangeability, few types of wearing parts, and is easy to purchase and manage spare parts. However, hammer crushers have many hammer heads, and it takes a lot of time and manpower to replace a set of hammer heads, and the repair and maintenance costs are also relatively high. The hammering rotor, bottom screen plate, grille, etc. may also be worn during work, and replacement is also complicated.
