The process flow of the cement production line is as follows: raw meal preparation and homogenization, pulverized coal preparation, clinker calcination, and cement grinding.

1. Preparation and homogenization of raw materials

Natural limestone, clay and exotic raw materials are crushed by a jaw crusher and mixed in a certain proportion, and then ground by a ball mill to form raw meal with appropriate composition and uniform quality.

2. Pulverized coal preparation

The coal required for calcining cement raw materials must be prepared into pulverized coal to provide the particle size required for pulverized coal combustion so as to facilitate full combustion and obtain sufficient combustion reaction capacity. In this process, pulverized coal can be directly added, and equipment such as jaw crushers and ball mills will be used for processing.

3. Clinker calcination

That is, the lime raw material is calcined in a rotary kiln until it is partially melted to obtain lime clinker.

4. Cement grinding

That is, the clinker is added with an appropriate amount of gypsum, mixed materials or additives and ground into cement, which is then packaged and shipped from the factory.

In the process of the cement production line, at least 3 tons of materials must be ground for every ton of Portland cement produced. Including various raw materials, fuel, clinker, mixture, and gypsum. According to statistics, the power consumed by the grinding operation of the dry cement production line accounts for more than 60% of the power of the entire plant, of which raw material grinding accounts for more than 30%, and coal grinding accounts for more than 30%. Grinding accounts for about 3%, and cement grinding accounts for about 40%.

Therefore, rational selection of grinding equipment and process flow, optimization of process parameters, correct operation, and control of operating systems are of great significance to ensuring product quality and reducing energy consumption.

The Portland cement production process is representative in cement production equipment.
